The Mind of the Introvert

Surrounded and drowning.
What will they think?
Are they laughing at me?
Again, will I sink?
Sweating and thinking,
Can’t stop my mind’s pace.
I try to keep running,
From my thoughts constant race,
But the laughter seeps in,
And the tears seep out,
And all I can think,
Is don’t scream, don’t shout.
It’ll soon be over.
Surely they’ll leave.
Then I’ll be alone.
I’ve got to believe.
I feel like the joke,
That no one will get,
Like the person who’s so easy,
To leave and forget.
Avoid the big crowds,
For that’s not your scene.
They won’t understand,
How you’re stuck in between.
They’ll point and they’ll laugh,
Or that’s how it’ll feel.
Who knows what’s imagined,
And what’s actually real?
Just stay home,
With your dogs and your books.
Avoid all the judgment,
The harsh words and looks.
Don’t deal with nerves,
The people, the fear.
Just avoid it all,
And stay right here.

The Difference Between Hot and Beautiful

  • Hot is admired from afar; beauty is to be held.
  • Hot is perception; beauty is appreciation.
  • Hot is smokey-eyed; beautiful is bare-faced.
  • Hot is an appearance; beautiful is more than skin deep.
  • Hot is the way she moans; beautiful is the way she speaks.
  • Hot is a strong appeal; beautiful is strong mind.
  • Hot is youthful; beautiful is ageless.
  • Hot is conventional; beauty is unique.
  • Hot is a one-night stand; beautiful is sleepless nights.
  • Hot is a state of being; beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  • Hot is devious; beautiful is innocent.
  • Hot is bending her over; beautiful is baking her blueberry pancakes.
  • Hot is sultry; beautiful is wholesome.
  • Hot is her curves; beauty is her nerves.
  • Hot is a text message; beautiful is a love letter.
  • Hot is a facade; beautiful is a woman.

Happy Mother's Day, Amma

Happy Mother's Day, Amma
I'm writing you to tell you that I love you
Something I hardly ever do.
I never tell you enough how much I love you
and it's something I must do.
I need to let you know mother how much
You really mean to me so I'm telling you now
you mean the world to me.
I need to thank you for all you do for me.
Your unconditional love toward me means a
lot to me.
You've never turned your back
on me and I know it's something you'll
never do.
Anytime I need someone to talk to
You're always there to help me through
And anytime I need a favor you always seem
To be there, too.
There's nothing in this
world that I could do to pay you back for
all you do.
When god gave me to you,
That's the best thing he could ever do,
So this poem is dedicated to you
Because I
don't know how else to say Thank You

A reason, season or for a lifetime?

A REASON, SEASON OR FOR A LIFETIME...?

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person...

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life,
whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.
